Programme Structure

This module will be on-site at the University of St.Gallen.
A one-day visit to Zurich, the financial capital of Switzerland, and some of its institutions will be part of the programme.
In addition to basic skills, team building and awareness for the challenges of modern trade will be an important part of this module.

This module will take place online. Sustainability is understood in the sense of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), meaning that it is a triangle of ecological, social, and economic sustainability. Linking both theory and practice of international trade with that of sustainability. Participants gain an understanding of the multi-dimensional nature of trade, climate action, and social issues, developing expertise in the design and implementation of sustainable strategies and policies in trade.

This module will take place online. The module focuses on global supply chains and, in particular, the development of supplier relationships, operations improvement and outsourcing. It also looks at cross-border trade digitization, as well as international business in the global context. Exploring how key disruptive technologies transform the way supply chains operate and compete in the future, and how to meet those challenges. The module also provides an understanding of the trade digitisation practices, technologies and skills gaps in internationally-oriented organisations.

This module will take place online. Providing participants with an understanding of major issues that businesses are confronted with when operating in global markets. The module is devoted to theoretical and practical aspects of the international business environment associated with different types of risks and entry barriers faced by both small and medium sized enterprises and multinational.

This final module will take place at the University of St.Gallen.

The CAS is conferred at a degree ceremony held at the University of St.Gallen.

This executive education programme focusing on trade development and finance is driven by an inclusive approach, applying contemporary teaching models and an innovative learning experience. Through a combination of academic lectures, practical case studies with policy and industry leaders, participant group discussions and hands-on workshops, this CAS optimally prepares you for future careers in policymaking, strategy, business development, finance and risk management.

The one-day visit to Switzerland’s financial capital Zurich and most relevant trade institutions are a key component of the CAS-HSG in Trade Development and Finance.

Professional mentoring is also part of our learning approach. If applicable, we match participants with a professional mentor.
