Professor. Dr. Karolin Frankenberger is Dean and the Academic Director of the Executive MBA in the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law at the University of St.Gallen as well as the Director of the Institute of Management & Strategy of the University of St.Gallen. Prior to this, she was an assistant professor at both the University of Lucerne and the University of St.Gallen. Before her academic career, she worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company.
In 2004, she received a PhD from the Institute of Management, University of St.Gallen. She was also a visiting researcher at Harvard Business School and the School of Business at the University of Connecticut in the same year.
Her research focuses on Business Models, (Digital) Business Transformation and Sustainability. Her book, “The Business Model Navigator” has been translated into several languages and is considered a standard reference work in the literature of business model innovation.
In addition to publishing one of the most influential books in her field, Karolin regularly gives keynote speeches, webinars and interviews and writes thought leadership pieces on the subjects of business transformation, digital transformation, ecosystems and sustainability. In May 2019, she was voted Thinker of the Month by the renowned Thinkers50 organisation.
