The Verwaltungsratszertifikat CAS HSG offers a comprehensive board education for incumbent and prospective board members of small- to mid-sized companies. It is aimed at individuals who want to build a systematic understanding of effective corporate governance and strengthen their capabilities in practical governance, financial leadership, and strategic value creation.
Board members in small- and mid-sized companies are increasingly expected to combine sound governance with entrepreneurial judgement and a clear understanding of financial and strategic priorities. At the same time, growing share- and stakeholder expectations place greater demands on board professionalism and accountability.
The programme therefore provides a structured foundation for effective board work in the SME context. Taught predominantly by HSG faculty, it combines academic rigour with a strong practical orientation and supports participants in developing the knowledge and judgement required for responsible and value-creating board leadership.

The St.Gallen Verwaltungsrat CAS HSG is aimed at incumbent and prospective board members. A successful admission will be contingent upon the following admission criteria:
For all applicants
Applicants with experience as a non-executive board member
Applicants without experience as a non-executive board member
Note: The programme is currently still undergoing the approval process by the HSG Executive Education Committee.
