Professor Gudrun Sander completed her PhD (Dr. oec. HSG) at the University of St. Gallen in 1997. In 1998, she received the Recognition Award from the Swiss Society for Organisation and Management (SGO) for her dissertation. Gudrun Sander is Director of the Institute for International Management and Diversity Management (IIDM-HSG) and the Competence Centre for Diversity, Disability, and Inclusion (CCDI). Until May 2021, she was Director of the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law at the University of St. Gallen, where she headed the diversity programmes, including the “Women Back to Business” management training programme. Today, she is Academic Director of the “Aiming Higher – Career Development for Female Assistant Doctors” programme. In addition, she was appointed Professor of Business Administration with a special focus on diversity management in 2014.
In addition to diversity and inclusion topics, she teaches strategic management, leadership and financial management at the University of St. Gallen and other universities and universities of applied sciences. She is a member of the Women’s Empowerment Principles Leadership Group (WEPs LG) of UN Women and UN Global Compact, as well as the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Working Group for Gender Equality.
