Chairing the Board is part of the St.Gallen Board Practice series. The programme is a joint initiative by the University of St.Gallen and Sherpany, Europe’s leading board meeting technology company. It has been designed to support chairs and board members in improving boardroom interactions and faciliate effective decision-making.

The programme will bring together St.Gallen’s leading corporate governance faculty, experienced board members, and Sherpany’s thought leaders on board meeting excellence. The aim of the programme is to engage in discussions on what constitutes effective board leadership and how board and committee meetings can be further professionalised. The ultimate goal is to chart a path towards effective board practices that will allow directors to keep up with the pace and scope of today’s challenging demands.

This one-day, on-campus programme is aimed at incumbent and prospective non-executive directors. The course will be split into two parts: In the morning, St.Gallen faculty and boardroom practitioners will share both academic and experiential perspectives on board meeting effectiveness. In the afternoon, we will host an interactive board meeting workshop that is based on over a decade of Sherpany’s work with leading European boardrooms.
